As a self-proclaimed “Music Coolguy,” Brian Vickers has over 10 years of entertainment experience that range from providing creative ideas to artists, producers, and composers to helping mix live sound for various venues on the technical side. Whether working on music, working in the community, or just ranting on social media, Brian brings a level of passion that is sure to captivate any audience.

Brian is a native of Birmingham, Alabama where he first got into music at the age of five. Brian began singing at his home church, and as he grew older, he began participating in many talent shows, church functions, and other events around town. Later on, Brian received formal music training in the Birmingham Boys Choir. During his six years in the choir, he participated in extensive musical tours and performances in venues throughout the United States, Canada, England, Scotland, and Wales.

Upon graduating from high school, Brian decided to attend Howard University where he decided to study music. While in college, Brian had the opportunity to sing in the school’s premier vocal jazz ensemble Afro Blue. This gave him the opportunity to perform in venues ranging from The Lincoln Theater and The Kennedy Center in Washington DC to the IAJE Jazz Festival in New York City. He also began to gain work experience through internships with Hidden Beach Recordings and The Recording Academy.

In 2005, Brian was selected as one of 12 finalists from a nationwide search for the What’s The Download Interactive Advisory Board. This gave him the chance to join other students in order to have round table discussions with record label executives, music storeowners, as well as younger students about issues concerning today’s music industry. As a result of this position, Brian was able to attend the 47th and 48th Annual GRAMMY Awards in Los Angeles, California.

Brian graduated Magna Cum Laude from Howard University with a Bachelor’s of Music in Vocal Performance with Jazz Studies in May of 2007. And in September of 2008, Brian graduated with his Associate’s of Science Degree in Recording Arts from Full Sail University.

Brian currently lives in Los Angeles where he works as a Music Coordinator for Bunim / Murray Productions. And while he’s not getting artists’ and bands’ music placed on shows such as “The Real World,” “The Bad Girls Club,” and “Keeping Up With The Kardashians,” Brian enjoys playing basketball, video games, and loud rounds of the game Taboo.
