Talented, focused, and committed are words that best describe Brian Chadwick Vickers. These attributes are seen through what many consider to be Brian’s talents that range from singing and songwriting to volunteering in the community.

Brian is a native of Birmingham, Alabama. And since the age of five, he has been involved in music. Brian began singing at his home church, and as he grew older, he participated in many talent shows, church functions, and other events throughout his hometown.

Brian received early formal training in the Birmingham Boys Choir. During his six years in the choir, Brian participated in extensive musical tours and performances in venues throughout the United States, Canada, England, Scotland, and Wales.

Throughout his high school career, Brian was a member of the high school choir—even serving as president in his junior and senior years. He also participated in other school activities ranging from the student council and diversity club to the football and track teams. Brian graduated from high school in 2003 and was able to maintain honor roll status throughout his high school career.

Upon graduating from high school, Brian decided to attend Howard University where he chose to major in music. At Howard, Brian had the opportunity to sing in the school’s premier vocal jazz ensemble Afro Blue. This gave him the opportunity to perform in venues ranging from The Lincoln Theater in Washington DC to the Kennedy Center—alongside names such as Geri Allen, Jimmy Cobb, Ron Carter, and Ben Vereen. He also gained some experience in music business through internships with Hidden Beach Recordings and The Recording Academy.

In 2005, Brian was selected as one of 12 finalists from a nationwide search for the What’s The Download Interactive Advisory Board. This gave him the chance to join other students in order to have round-table discussions with record label executives, music storeowners, and younger students about issues concerning today’s music industry. In 2005 and 2006, Brian attended the annual GRAMMY Awards in Los Angeles.

In May of 2007, Brian graduated Magna Cum Laude from Howard University with a Bachelor’s of Music in Vocal Performance with Jazz Studies. And in September of 2008, Brian graduated with his Associate’s of Science Degree in Recording Arts from Full Sail University.

Brian currently lives in Los Angeles where he works as a music coordinator for Bunim/Murray Productions. Brian is very grateful that he has constantly been able to pursue his life-long dream of a career in music.
