Mariah M. Maxwell. Singer. Composer. Pianist. Genre-bender. Peace-lover. Creator. When you see her perform, you experience every aspect of those words in your heart and soul. Mariah is a firm believer in the power of music and it’s ability to influence and change society. With every song she writes, her goal is to create honest music that inspires unity.
In addition to her work with Traces of Blue, Mariah has been seen in performance with many notable artists to include James Taylor, Esperanza Spalding, Smokey Robinson, En Vogue, Chante Moore, Geri Allen and Bobby McFerrin. Mariah also studied pipe organ with Dr. Mickey Thomas Terry as recipient of the African American Heritage Cultural Institute Scholarship. She performed her debut organ recital in February 2013.
Mariah is currently an artist-in-residence at Ben’s Next Door in Washington, D.C.
